Constructed from over 400 balloons and over 5 feet of lime green neon satin, The Inflated Feelings Duey was created for the Safe to Feel installation and explores the emotions, memories, and experiences we accumulate throughout our lives.

Each balloon represents a feeling, memory, or experience that has attached to us since childhood, while each color represents a different type of emotion. Some feelings become inflated and take up space, while others fade away or even fall off as we grow and heal. Some remain with us for years, while others arrive unexpectedly. Together, from wallowing in despair to joyous celebrations, these emotions shape the people we become.

What emotions do you associate with each color, and what feelings are you carrying with you today?
